CONSENT
By coming to hospital you have implied agreement to general treatment
which may be required for your condition. Certain procedures such as
operations, the administration of anaesthesia and certain diagnostic procedures,
require your specific consent in writing.
Before you sign the consent form, the nature of the procedure should
be explained to you by your doctor. It is important that you understand
what is involved. You are entitled to insist on an adequate explanation
from your doctor if you are unclear of the procedure and its likely effects.

INFECTION CONTROL
We are committed to safe and effective patient care, and our Infection
Control program aims to reduce the risk of infection to patients
and staff. The program involves monitoring infections and implementing
changes to prevent infections, with education and consultation an
important part of the program. We contribute data to the Australian
Council on Health Care Standards, and are proud that all staff contribute
to the low incidence of infection throughout the hospital.
